Restorative Yoga
Second Saturdays

Begin your weekend feeling refreshed and restored. Restorative yoga balances and restores the nervous system to counteract the effects of stress on the body and mind. Poses are supported with props to gently stretch and open the body, allowing the muscles to relax deeply while rejuvenating the major organs and quieting the mind. KEEP IN BALANCE

Keeping you in balance, relieving muscle aches, restoring peace and calm to your life, allowing you deeper breathing, toning and strengthening of the body, gaining greater range of motion in hips and shoulders, perhaps even helping you to rehabilitate after an injury; Yoga can assist with all of this!

THE NATURE OF YOGA

The elements of nature are as integral to us as the oxygen we breathe. Elements of earth, air, fire, and water comprise the essence of who we are. We weave these elements into our yoga practice by exploring the chakra system, yoga philosophy, mudras and mantras, meditation, herbal allies as well as body systems, and the energetic principles of alignment and organic energy.

The Nature of Yoga provides a very profound connection to the heart. It promotes alignment of the bones and muscles of the body, so that the physical body may return to its original template. The spine may adjust into alignment, the muscles begin to tone and support the shape of the body. The energy body shifts, and the chakra system begins to open and breathe more easily. Come join us for practice that will inspire you!


Beginning Gentle Yoga; Hips and Shoulders: A class which provides greater flexibility and mobility in hips and shoulders. Also an excellent beginner class for seniors.
Mixed Level The Nature of Yoga: Learn the principles and philosophy of Yoga designed for the student who has good range of motion, and desires a quicker paced class. Will include vigorous sun salutations and cultivate flexibility, strength and awareness. Suitable for those who have completed two or more Beginning The Nature of Yoga courses and also those who have been studying another style of Hatha Yoga for at least six months.

HATHA YOGA

Hatha yoga brings strength, flexibility and endurance to the body and enhanced focus to the mind. This gentle, alignment-based class is designed to take the body deeper into the poses, exploring and enhancing the connection between the body, mind and spirit. Learn how to access and apply the power of movement, breath and meditation to stabilized the body and quiet the mind. All levels and abilities welcome.

PRE-NATAL YOGA

Not just a yoga class, but a supportive and informative community.
During this extraordinary time in your life, create a nurturing bond between yourself and your baby through Yoga. Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. with Lynn. Enjoy our innovative approach to prenatal care and experience a radiant pregnancy and healthy delivery. You'll learn ways to ease physical discomforts, focus on bonding with your baby, reduce stress and anxiety, learn effective pain coping skills, and gain support from other women!  Call 816-584-0777 to register for this class, or see the registration box at the top right side of this page.

KUNDALINI YOGA

With Kundalinia Yoga you may experience and feel the immense changes and uplifting qualities that this intentional style of Yoga brings to your life. It’s actions (kriyas), and mantras (chants) and meditations provide awakening, insights, and gentle healing. Lynn Johnson is pleased to have studied this style at 3HO Yoga Center in downtown Kansas City. This challenging yoga utilizes the ancient and powerful tools of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Through the practice, you become one with your breath, your mind, your body and your soul. You quickly discover that self-imposed limits are merely landmarks on a journey towards your highest consciousness. The teachings of Yogi Bhajan supply the knowledge and awareness that deepen life experiences, expand confidence, and enable you to live a more peaceful, strong, centered and stress-free life!
